KNOWLEDGE IS LIFE.
Ours is a land of amazing terrain and awesome snow. We enjoy it in countless ways. But while snow can be your best friend on some of the greatest days in life, it can also kill you -- or those you love.

Learning about avalanche safety and staying current with forecasts is essential knowledge that can save a life. With its ever-expanding Web resources and education programs, the Forest Service Utah Avalanche Center brings to your fingertips the tools you need for safe backcountry fun.

What is knowledge worth to you?
UAC forecasters deliver these tools because it's their job. But they also do it because they want to help you save lives. What price tag would you put on their services?  How does a daily avalanche and mountain weather forecast, along with educational resources, observations, accident reports, and other bits of critical information affect your recreation in Utah?

We can't do it without you. Please make a donation today to the not-for-profit Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center to help us support the forecasters in bringing life-saving knowledge to all backcountry travelers.

Why should I donate to the Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center? Isn’t the Utah Avalanche Center part of the Forest Service?
Yes – but the Forest Service only pays for about 19 percent of the annual cost of running the Utah Avalanche Center. The State of Utah pays for about 16 percent, and Salt Lake County pays for about 5 percent. The rest comes from your donations.

Want to promote your business and support the FUAC?

Want to be part of the backcountry community and let156,000 + people around the world see your logo and your support for avalanche safety?  Your donation can get your logo on the website.  Email us for details.

The Bottom Line: We count on your donations to keep our operations going. Please – if you value this service, help us out. It’s easy and tax - deductible.
