Comments

While descending the ridge from the top of Main Scott's Bowl towards Scott's Pass, the avalanche was remotely triggered by a collapse created while turning on the ridge line. The slope released in the main part of Main Scott's Bowl and initially propagated towards West Scott's Bowl. After 3 to 4 seconds it then propagated back up the slope to the peak area and down towards ridge line that separates Main Scott's Bowl from Rhino. The slide went to the ground and appeared to have cleaned out much of the basal facets. The slide ran fast, and well into the flats with a significant powder cloud. R3.5, D3.5.
