Walking on the flats toward South Monitor collapse the slope from at least 100ft away, noted a large crack then realized the N facing pocket of snow on the far right side of South Monitor had avalanched, it only ran 150 to 200ft down the hill into the thick pines. Was some what surprised that it did not propagate into the main bowl but it stopped before the main part of the slope.
