General Comments

 I observed this avalanche from a distance and did not get a closer look.  It looked to have been started by cornice fall the previous day or night and had stepped down into a deeper layer.  I was quite a distance away but I would guess 1-2 feet deep initially and could have stepped down as deep as 3-4 feet.
