General Comments

I saw multiple SS avalanches at Alta today. Every one I looked at were breaking on a facet layer that is several inches thick. This was the largest, mainly from the wind transport off the ridge. I did not see it run, but the party in front of me hiking up the Shoulder, said it pulled out from a distance, as they approached on the uphill track. There were no tracks except for mine going in on the bed surface. What we saw today was exactly what the advisory had said.

Alta Ski Area was not open yet for the season.
