Comments
The crown was located at a mid slope rollover. Wind loading was not remarkable. Judging from the new snow accumulation on top of the debris field, the slide likely occurred the prior afternoon. There were some buried ski tracks in the area but couldn’t rule out the possibility that the slide was remotely or naturally triggered. Based on the crown profile, failure was at the buried PWL. The slide path was 30-50 feet in length and terminated in bushes and trees below. Would not have been a fun terrain trap to be caught within.
