Avalanche Awareness Workshop for Snowmobilers
Want to learn about avalanches and how to get out, get after it, and come home alive? We are holding a hands-on avalanche skills clinic for snowmobilers.
A Thursday evening chat session is followed by a Saturday field day at Tony Grove.
When and Where-Thursday Jan 17 @ 6-8pm-Forest Service Logan Ranger District Conference Room (1500 E. Hwy 89, Logan)
Evening classroom instruction- Weather, snowpack, terrain, rescue and human factors involved in avalanche accidents.
Saturday Jan 19 @ 9am - 4pm Tony Grove
Field Day- Rescue equipment practice and scenarios, safe travel techniques, terrain analysis, route selection,
Must have-
Avalanche beacon, shovel and probe… and of course, a sled.
(We have extra rescue gear to lend for the day.)
