The avalanche danger is MODERATE on any slope approaching 35 degrees or steeper with recent deposits of wind drifted snow. There is also pockets of MODERATE danger for deeper avalanches on slopes facing the north half of the compass. Finally, there is a MODERATE danger of wet sluffs on steep slopes that face the south half of the compass especially as the slopes heat up in the afternoon. |

We have a mostly MODERATE avalanche danger today. Watch for sluffing this morning on upper elevation northerly aspects and for minor heat initiate activity with daytime heating on east through south through west aspects. Mid elevation slopes should be approached with caution as buried surface hoar may still produce an avalanche on northwest through northeast aspects. |

There are pockets of MODERATE avalanche danger on slopes steeper than about 35 degrees, where both soft wind drifts and loose sluffs can be triggered on shady slopes, especially along the higher ridgelines. There is also a MODERATE danger on shady mid-elevation slopes for triggering a slide 1 to 2’ deep on the buried surface hoar layer. If the surface snow becomes damp where you are, wet loose sluffs will become easy to trigger on steep slopes of many aspects.
