Additional Information

It's become a waiting game. Winter is a bit tardy in my opinion, and with the current forecast of no snow in sight, my feeling is supported by the Snow-Curious facts below.

Checking the latest NWS Forecast Discussion, there seems to be nothing but a few dry cold fronts in the forecast. So in the mean time, enjoy a few recent UAC Blogs or try checking out the always entertaining Wasatch Weather Weenies.

We'll stay in touch though, and update this forecast with events and news once or twice a week, whether it snows or not.

General Announcements

The Utah Avalanche Center will be participating in several great events this weekend that you should consider checking out.

  • The 3rd annual Live PC Give PC day of support and appreciation in Park City will take place on Friday, November 7. This is a great way to support all the non-profit organizations that contribute to the quality of living, working, and playing on the Wasatch Back. White Pine Touring will be hosting a reception for the Utah Avalanche Center and Mountain Trails Foundation from 5 to 7pm Friday night featuring avalanche forecasters and free Red Bicycle pizza and 801 beer from Uinta brewing - stop by and say hello.
  • The Adventure Gear Expo will be held at the Southtowne Expo Center Friday and Saturday. Sort of like an Outdoor Retailer show open to the public, this is a great way to check out all the gear for this season. Stop by the Black Diamond booth to say hi to the Utah Avalanche Center folks and get your UAC tshirt or hat and a Wasatch Backcountry Skiing map.
  • On Sunday night, 4FRNT skis will host a movie night With Eric "HOJI" Hjorleifson at Brewvies. A pair of skis will be auctioned off and a raffle for great gear will be held to benefit the Utah Avalanche Center.
  • Do you have lunch plans downtown next week? Bambara is doing a daily lunch special to benefit the Utah Avalanche Center every day next week, donating $1 for each special sold to help keep you on top. Ask your server for details.
