Weather and SnowThere still isn't much snow at all even at the highest elevations, but it's coming in today and the season is under way. I'm reading 3 inches of total snow at the 8400' Tony Grove Snotel this morning with below zero temperatures. We'll start issuing regular advisories and reports when snow starts to pile up in the backcountry. Until then, remember that early season avalanches are possible on any steep slope with significant snow accumulation. Wind drifted snow on slopes with previous snow cover will continue to be the most suspect.
